Two CiROCCO partners at COP28

Dr. Panagiotis Kosmopoulos from NOA was invited by the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) to join the Africa Pavilion during the COP28 at Dubai, UAE. His presentation and the subsequent interview at IDC Media focused on energy transition policies and the role of climate services for renewable energy in the developing countries.

The CiROCCO project was also discussed in order to highlight the necessity of in-site measurements in desert areas, promoting a holistic solar energy management and planning solution using Earth observation data and methodologies (i.e. satellite, in-situ and model based), giving an alternative view for precise electricity production and handling.

During the same event, partner CEDARE discussed the project in a talk titled “The role of Earth Observation inWater,Food,Energy nexus”.
