CiROCCO’s low cost sensor installation on Alpha TV Cyprus
In October 2025, the CiROCCO project successfully deployed its low-cost, in-situ sensors in the Municipality of Idalion, Cyprus, as part of its pilot activities. These sensors are designed to monitor desert dust storms and air quality in real time, supporting data-driven public health and environmental policy decisions.
This milestone was featured on Cyprus’ Alpha TV news, showcasing the importance of environmental monitoring in the region. The system integrates real-time data collection with satellite observations, enhancing our understanding of desert dust impacts on human health and ecosystems.
