5th Online Webinar
Environmental monitoring with the CiROCCO’s Low-Cost Sensing Nodes in the Deliblato sands special nature reserve, Serbia
- 21/04/2026 from 12:00 to 13:00 CET
The Deliblato Sands Special Nature Reserve represents a unique and highly valuable landscape and ecosystem that is increasingly threatened by climate change and anthropogenic pressures. This webinar is dedicated to presenting the functionality of an integrated environmental monitoring system designed to support sustainable environmental management under challenging natural conditions.
Drought and wildfire risk, environmental degradation, and air pollution are monitored using the CiROCCO low-cost sensing nodes combined with remote sensing products. Their synergistic use provides near-real-time, high-resolution situational awareness and predictive capabilities based on meteorological and climate model predictions, supporting both short-term operational decision-making and long-term environmental management and planning.
The presented approach is transferable to other environmentally sensitive and climatically vulnerable regions, particularly across Southeast Europe, where the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly pronounced.
